A long way to travel

Three of you set out, each carrying a different kind of family. What you build on the road is the story: the people you stop for, the ones who stay, and what you are all willing to carry for each other. It is a long journey, by road and eventually by air, and it does not end where you think it will.

Befriend creatures

Calm creatures by playing an instrument. Every creature nearby gets better if it hears you. When you heal a creature all the way, take it to a spirit house to make a bond. Now the instrument can call its spirit to help you.

Play in harmony

Healing fills a harmony bar you all share. Heal at the same time to calm more creatures, and grow closer too.

Connect the elements

Your instruments can only hold so many bonds, so the party's elements are whatever you have chosen between yourselves. What you carry decides what you can handle. Only water can quench a fire. Match a creature's element while it is stilled and its heart opens, stopping it in its tracks.

For all ages and all generations

Designed to ease a child, a parent, a grandparent, or anyone into using a controller, actions are as simple as holding a button and tapping. If you already know your way around a controller, there are more advanced moves to learn, like dodging and luring creatures.

No hurry

Plants and creatures only change as you move through areas, so there's no pressure to be efficient.

A world that answers back

Study the creatures and plants you meet to fill out your World Dex, and watch each region recover as you do. Visit a spirit house to give alms from what you've gathered. Make tea for friends. Burn incense for the creatures that faded here, and each one is remembered by name. Leave food out, and the land is all the better for it. Entrust a creature you have grown close to at a spirit house, or station someone you have met to keep an eye on the place, and you might run into them down the road.

Somewhere to rest

The Inner Garden is a quiet place you reach by sitting still that you can share with others. Here you can rest, and decorate to make the garden feel like home. Bonded spirits talk to you there and they'll give keepsakes when they are happy.
